There are 5 pins across the Bottom. The front panel header is a series of pins, sticking up out of the motherboard. Although that motherboard is toast, im going on the assumption that the GOOD RAM that came with it 256 MB and the 1.


E Pins 6 and 8 are for the Power On switch. Starting on the LEFT side coming across to the Right, Bottom row; Pins 1, 3, and 5. To get your PC to turn on when you push the power button, you need to connect the power switch to the motherboard.


How to Connect the Power LED to a MSI Motherboard - Pin 6 is for the Negative - wire of a buzzer. If you Do Not, have your documents set to save to your My Documents folder Documents for Vista , the file will go to your desktop screen.


The simple way is to remove the front panel of the computer trace the wires to the front panel leds, make note of color pair to each led. The using the manual that came with the motherboard locate the schematic for the JFP1 connector on the motherboard, it show's where the leds wires connect to operate. If you have no manual, if you look very closely at the connector you will see where the led wires connect, you may have to use a magnifiying glass and flash light. You cannot damage anything if you accidently place the led wires in the wrong place. If the panel led wires are in a single connector and won't work on the motherboard, you can remove the wires from the connector by using a very small sharp pointed pick to push down the retaining tab on each wire, thus enabling it to be removed from the connector, just be patient. The JFP2 header is for an internal speaker. The JFP1 header is for the Front Panel cables. The JFP1 header pins start from the right side of the motherboard, and go towards the left. There are 5 pins across the Bottom. Going from right to left There is NO pin, then there are 4 pins across the Top. Again, going from Right towards the left The top row of pins are numbered Evenly. The bottom row of pins are numbered Odd. Starting on the Right side, going towards the left for the Top row of pins, the pins are numbered, 10 NO pin for 10 , 8, 6, 4, and 2. Starting on the Right side, going towards the left for the Bottom row of pins, the pins are numbered, 9, 7, 5, 3, and 1. If applicable 5 Pin 9 is not used. Download Adobe; Open manual to page 9. There is no need to connect JFP2's Power LED jumper, this is completed at JFP1. Each wire jumper coming from the case will have one wire color in common with all connectors except the speaker jumper. That common colored wire will be use as negative. The speaker wire commonly as red is positive and black is negative. The file is in. Pin 6 is power switch high reference pull-up. Pin 8 is power switch low reference pull-down to ground. Information from page 2-17 in the manual. The wires come from the Front Panel, where your Power On button is. The pins on the motherboard are called Headers. Your Power On switch, It's behind that button , the Reset switch, Harddrive Activity Lamp, Light , and so on, connect to the Front Panel headers on the motherboard. That explained, let's continue; This is in reference to the MSI K9N6SGM-V motherboard. It has 5 rows of 2 pins, with NO pin in the bottom right corner. At the very bottom of Page 13 it shows you where your Front Panel connectors go. When I refer to the page numbers, look at the very top of the PDF file in the Square box. The Square box is to the right of the Blue Down Arrow. Here is a diagram of another MSI similiar and usually they have their pins on their jumpers pretty much the same. I know your motherboard is setup differnently, but your JFP1 should be in the right hand corner all by itself.


How to Connect Front Panel connectors to your Motherboard
